Post Surgery

You can fill in
the spaces
with junk,
used iron
and glass.
It will settle
to become
quite firm.
You can
use fire
to hurry up
oxidation,
to kill
the smell
and drive out
lingering
rats.
In a short time
well, you will be
a foundation
for houses,
a step for spans
that cars
will drive over
by thousands.
You will become
land.
