Ideology

Until recently, it was politics.
Now it’s religion.

No give and take
and, certainly, no rapport.

Here in Hell,
everyone keeping scores.

Fear is translucent.

All energy directed to hate,
no second chance,
the value of life at subzero.

A recurrent state
and, truly, no place to run.
