When Young

When young, love is simply expected
and does turn out
to be vitally important
to life,
even if in unequal portions.

More surprising is how basic love is: 
a sustaining condition of life,
civilization, 
and the continued well-being Earth,

our habitation,
as well, 
for all forms of life.
