Simple Act of loving

The simple act of loving sucks us in
to one another's problems,

takes the thin
and turns it, oh so quickly,
into thick.

Love is a stick with which we beat each other.
But which comes first?  The loving
or the beating?

Raw need confronts.
When at last we deal with each other,
love sucks us in.
