Poetry as Myth: A Serious Crime

Capture transcendent life. Live in the now,
not in some imagined future.

Life, as it every day comes,
is itself resplendent
though at times you yourself are not fun.

So experience to the full any rapture.
It does not last long,
is the proof you are not immortal.

Know poetry is shared experience;
perhaps not in your time significant,
but always true
and can also be transforming.

Poetic life is sacred, even sacramental
is the stuff of dreams.
Not being real in time, cannot be eroded.

This is the world of words, rhythms and stories
where heroes roam
in search of experience and culture,
sometimes of death;

but is always a glorious adventure,
a live response
to those encounters we have
with truly sacred tides.
